16/365 Laundromat

It was time to wash the bedspreads at our beach place, so we spent a few, actually fun, hours in the warm, moist laundromat.

I loved the colors in the place...faded turquoise blue walls, harvest gold dryers, and a pop of red in the retro signs. 

15/365 Newport Dock #5

Spent the weekend in Otter Rock.  It was the foggiest I think I've ever seen it.  We drove into Newport and wandered along dock #5.  Pretty much just us, the boats, a few stray fisherman, a guy selling crabs, and a seagull or two.

Love the bright green moss growing at the base of these faded blue posts on the dock.

The Chelsea Sea was selling fresh crabs off the boat.  They were huge!

13/365 Stripper shoes in the 'couv

Went walking on my lunch today and passed a new shop kitty corner from St. James Catholic Church.  It's going to be a pole dancing school...and from the display in the window it looks like strippers and hookers in Vancouver will finally be able to do their shopping in Vancouver instead of going over the river and dropping their hard-earned dollars in Portland.

Actually kind of cute, no?

12/365 Jessica glows

Had dinner tonight at La Bottega in downtown Vancouver.  Jessica had exciting news....she and her husband, Jesse are expecting a baby this fall.  It's a cliche, but she actually was glowing.

Chendra and Bob - just for fun

I was very fortunate to get a backstage tour of the elephant barn at the Oregon Zoo.  Bob, is one of the elephant handlers and he introduced me to Chendra.  She was found orphaned and blinded by gunshot in one eye, and eventually found a home in Oregon.  Here, Bob and Chendra show off the same trick....lifting their trunk.
